June 30, 2014 Deads

The plan was for 195 x 5 sets of 10

135x10,
here is where the plan started to fall apart
225x5
275x5 - this felt a little "off" so I brought my feet in (about 3-4" apart)
315x3 - these flew up. reps were done stop and go as my usual divebomb/touch and go would be too iffy with my hernia
340x3
2x390 - everything still flying
at this point I told myself if I had to strain at all I'd just drop the bar
1x440 - easy, no strain
1x495 - my 20 weeks of not loading a bar messed with my math. We were being lazy and had 25's, 10's whatever on the bar. I pulled this and returned some smack talk to one of the guys we train with - not so subtly reminding him that I just pulled his max, "500", after not pulling for 20 weeks. At that point my training partner says "that was 495"! So I did what any self respecting man would do,
