Meet Report Part 2
Definitely not the 1505 I had set as my goal but I was thrilled with the Deadlift. I have narrowly missed 601 3 or 4 times in competition over the past 2+ years so this was a big milestone for me. Besides just getting the lift it was a huge boost mentally since my head had definitely not been "in the game" the rest of the meet. Too many contributing factors to mention here but all of my mistakes were going against my own advice.
Thanks to Jen, Tim, and Mark for their support and encouragement and to 80's Metallica and some good stimulants for getting my adrenaline going for the Deadlift.
Now for 2-4 weeks of recovery, mobility work, imbalance work, and conditioning. Then it will be time to go after 1500 again in the late spring or early summer.
For the rest of the TMS Gym Powerlifting Team, I have now done everything I tell you not to do and have personally demonstrated the poor results because of those mistakes. So now your job is not to make the same mistakes and kick ass at the WCO in December. Your second job is to make sure I stick to my recovery and mobility plan and don't get back under the bar too soon.
