Spent the morning at Re-Active gym. Got there at 5am and helped Harry Selkow coach a group of elite high school players on the squat and good morning. I also worked in with the 2 guys I was working with.
Box Squats
5x135,185,225,275,315
GM
3 sets of 15
Once the kids left Harry and I did:
Box Squats
10x275 x 2 sets
Glute Ham Raise
This is the first time I had done these. The first set I did on my own and I thought they were fairly easy. Then Harry's gracious wife April who watched me said "I need to get Harry.". Needless to say once I learned how to do them correctly they were no longer easy.
I did 4 sets of 5 with correct form.
Good Morning with EFS Spider Bar
3 set of 15
Harry pointed out that my glutes and low back are very strong, but my hamstrings are weak. I am basically shifting my position in every exercise to emphasize glutes and low back and avoid hamstrings. This is extremely valuable feedback which I will immediately put to work.
At this point Harry said "now it's time to start your journey of awesomeness, go jog a mile."
1 mile jog x 1
Harry's advice for upping my total was HAMSTRINGS and CONDITIONING. A mile a day except Sundays on addition to Prowler and any other conditioning is the prescription for awesomeness in conditioning.
What an amazing weekend - time to eat, catch my flight, and get home to my family. That's the only part that sucks, I HATE being away from my wife and kids.
